Manchester United F.C.

Manchester United Football Club is an English football club at Old Trafford based in Manchester, playing in the Premier League. Formed as Newton Heath LYR FC in 1878 the Association changed its name to Manchester United in 1902 and moved to Old Trafford in 1910.

In 1968, led by Matt Busby Manchester United the first English football club was to win the European Champions Cup, ten years after the Munich air disaster which claimed the lives of eight players. The current manager, Alex Ferguson is the most successful manager in club history, won 26 major honors since his election in November 1986.

Having won 18 league titles, four League Cups and a record 11 FA Cup Manchester United is one of the most successful clubs in English football history. The club has also won three European Cups and is the only one to have won a premiership, FA Cup and UEFA Champions League treble in the 1998/99 season.
